There's a small but fierce community of patients, caregivers, and researchers working together on ROS1+ cancer — a rare lung cancer subtype — and right now they need your help.
A personal goal of $100,000 is on the line for The ROS1ders, an organization funding patient-partnered research into their own disease. Three projects are actively underway:
The ROS1 Cancer Model Project enables people living with ROS1+ cancer to donate live cancer cells to create models that accelerate research. Cell lines developed through this work are now being used by research institutions across the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
The ROS1 Real-World Data Project is building infrastructure to collect patient data on treatment experiences and side effects — information that doesn't exist yet at the scale researchers need it. An international panel of clinicians, patients, and caregivers is already at the table.
ROS1+ Seed Grants fund early-stage research that wouldn't otherwise get off the ground. The goal this year is to award three $75,000 grants to projects with the potential to change outcomes for people living with this disease.
This is science driven by the people most affected by it. Every dollar goes directly toward making ROS1+ cancer more survivable — for the people living with it right now, and for everyone diagnosed after them.
