Please Support Patient-Partnered Research Into Rare Cancer
Join me and help make a real difference
You can have a direct, meaningful impact on lung cancer research, even if you are not a scientist. And it will make a difference, a real, true difference in the lives of thousands of people affected by the disease, people like me. As you may know, I have a rare type of metastatic lung cancer. The tumor growth in my body is being driven by a genetic rearrangement known as ROS1. It is not a hereditary mutation but an acquired somatic mutation. Only 1-2% of people with cancer have tumors with this genetic driver. ROS1+ cancer can be aggressive and also becomes resistant to treatment as time goes by, so people with this type of cancer often run out of treatment options and run out of time.
As good luck would have it, I belong to group of cancer patients who have formed a non-profit, the ROS1ders, dedicated to improving care for people with ROS1-driven cancer. We are raising money to support patient-partnered research into our own disease. You can read more about our research here: The ROS1 Cancer Model Project. With your help, we're so excited to move forward and help those with ROS1+ cancer improve outcomes!
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for The ROS1ders, Inc.
